A short story to go with these great finds: I will never be doing k-mart doubles or any other k-mart shopping again. I may list some good finds, but only for my readers to brave the ridiculousness themselves. I have never had a GOOD k-mart trip, but this, by far, beat any bad trip I have had. I ended up with 16 items and I was there for over 2 hours and had to go through two different checkout lanes! And they limit you to 25 coupons per person per day so I only went to get baby stuff and a couple other things. If this would have went better I would have went back another day for other things. But some things are just not worth it in the end. That's right....I said it! Good deals...but not worth it.
Anyway, for those who didn't know, k-mart is doubling coupons up to and including $2 this week. Here's what I got:
1 Johnson & Johnson Lotion @ 5.49 2 Pedialyte singles @ 5.49 each 1 Halls 30 ct. @ 1.34 2 Ziploc freezer bags @ 2.50 each 2 Johnson & Johnson Baby Swabs @ 1.49 each 3 64 ct. Huggies Wipes @ 2.50 each 1 Glade Carpet Powder @ 1.50 1 Pull-ups @ 9.99 1 Soleil Disp. Razors @ 5.29 1 Johnson & Johnson Shampoo @ 3.79 1 Colgate Total 4oz. @ 3.29
Ok...holidays, birthday parties, and sicknesses(hopefully) are over. Time to get back to things. Although, no promises, I am entering week 7 of my pregnancy and that usually doesn't bring good things. But I'm going to try and plow through it! So today's list of to-do's looks like this:
Thank you's for Jaylee's 1st birthday Bake breakfast food to freeze Organize coupons Make shopping list
I'm going to be optimistic and say I can do it all....but we'll have to see how the kids behave ; )
Here's my first task :
Breakfast Muffins - Cranberry Applesauce
1 Cup Unsweetened Applesauce 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 egg 2 cups flour 1/2 cup white sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped 1/2 cup pecans, chopped (optional) not in the recipe, but I added 1 mashed banana
Mix wet ingredients first, then blend dry in. Fold in fruit and nuts. Bake in oven 350 for 25-30 minutes. Makes 12.
Just tried them....YUMMY!!!!
I just wanted to add, this is called using my stockpile because I didn't have to go shopping for any of this stuff. I, of coarse, keep baking ingredients, but the cranberries were .99 from Aldi's during Christmas time. I froze a few bags of those. The banana was one that got a little past "good enough to eat" so I froze that. And the applesauce was one of many jars I got for nearly free from Meijer one week. I love that I don't have to shop every time I want to make something!
I am a wife of 5 years to my wonderful and supportive husband, Jerry, and a stay-at-home mom to my two beautiful little girls, Jillian (2 1/2 yrs.) and Jaylee (1 year). I'm also pregnant with #3!! I recently discovered that I can save my family a lot of money. I guess you could say it has become somewhat of an addiction, but hey, what an addiction to have. No, I am not addicted to spending a bunch of money on designer shoes or bags, I am addicted to saving money. I love the rush of a good deal!
